Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping with Smart Sprinkler Genius. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Please read our return policy carefully before making a purchase, as most of our products are non-returnable.
Return Window
You have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. Returns requested after 14 days will not be accepted and will be returned to sender at the customer’s expense.
Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, ALL of the following conditions must be met:
- You must contact us before shipping anything back. Items sent without prior Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) approval will be refused.
- The item must be unused, uninstalled, and in new, resellable condition.
- The item must be in its original manufacturer packaging with all accessories, manuals, and printed materials included.
- A valid receipt or proof of purchase is required.
How to Request a Return
- Email [email protected] with your order number and reason for return.
- Wait for written RMA approval and return instructions.
- Ship the item to the address provided at your own expense within 7 days of RMA approval.
Return Shipping
The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We do not provide prepaid return labels. Items must be shipped with tracking and adequate insurance. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.
Fees
- A restocking fee of up to 35% of the item price will be deducted from any refund.
- Credit card processing fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances:
- All landscape lighting fixtures, path lights, wall lights, well lights, bollards, accent lights, transformers, and power supplies
- Smart irrigation controllers and commercial controllers (including but not limited to Hunter, Rain Bird, Rachio, and Hydrawise models)
- Special order, custom, built-to-order, and quoted orders
- Items not regularly stocked
- Clearance, sale, discontinued, and price-matched items
- Items marked “Final Sale”
- Opened, installed, or used products
- Products not in original manufacturer packaging
- Gift cards
- Hazardous materials, chemicals, fertilizers, and flammable products
- Items purchased from a source other than smartsprinklergenius.com
Defective or Damaged Items
Inspect your order upon delivery. If your item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery at [email protected] with photos of the damage and your order number. Defective and damaged claims submitted after 48 hours may be denied. Manufacturer warranty claims must be handled directly with the manufacturer.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether the refund is approved or denied. Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days, minus the restocking fee, return shipping costs, and any applicable credit card processing fees. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different item, return the original (if eligible) and place a new order.
Order Cancellations
To cancel an order, email [email protected] as soon as possible. Orders that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled and must follow the return process above. Credit card processing fees will be charged for all cancellations.
